You can book the whole photography studio if you are a tutor at the University of Westminster School of Architecture and you are willing to run a workshop for your students. The studio can be booked out for 2 hours a day unless agreed with Fabrication Lab staff for longer hours.
You can book the area in the studio if you are a student, tutor or a member of staff at the University of Westminster School of Architecture. We have different areas in the studio on purpose designed to fit the needs. You can book your area for no longer than 2 hours a day unless agreed with Fabrication Lab staff for longer hours.
Areas in the studio include:
1) Light Diffuser Box with infinity background for small models and product photography.
2) White Cyclorama for bigger item photography.
3) Background Paper (White, Black, Green).
4) Artificial Sky
If you would like to be sure that upon arrival expected lights will be on site, you should speak to a member of staff in the Photography studio.
Fabrication Lab will be running Light Lab workshops for design studios. If you would like your design studio to attend a photography or filming workshop your tutor will need to arrange it with a member of staff at the Fabrication Lab.
Users of the Light Lab must leave the area clean and tidy. Users are responsible for the equipment they use while in the Light Lab and the Photography Studio. Every user of the Light Lab is responsible for the caused damage to the equipment.
Rental periods: Fabrication Lab has three types of rental periods –
i)Studio Loan (The equipment taken on the ‘Studio Loan’ agreement, cannot be taken outside the photography studio that is located on the premises of the Fabrication Lab, West Wing, 35 Marylebone road, NW1 5LS.
ii) Short Term Loan (The equipment taken on the ‘Short Term Loan’ agreement can be taken out for no longer than 2 days (48 hours). Equipment cannot be taken abroad.)
iii) Long Term Loan (The equipment taken on the ‘Long Term Loan’ agreement needs to be arrange in person with one of the staff members of Fabrication Lab and approved by the director of the Fabrication Lab.
