How to prepare your print file

Before you come to print, make sure you have enough money on your student card. We do not accept QUOTA. If you don't have sufficient funds, please top up. You can do it either on your laptop or phone via topup.westminster.ac.uk or do it with cash on the top up machine next to the Library.

To save your time and our time, and avoid unnecessary stress please follow these simple steps to export your files correctly. Look for more detailed guide below.

  • Always flatten the layers
  • Set it to CMYK colour mode and no more than 300dpi
  • Make sure you have saved it the size you want it to be printed
  • Save it as a .pdf  (we can't print Word, Powerpoint, VectorWorks etc formats)
  • Bring it in on a USB stick. We can't open them from your email and external hard drives may sometimes not work.

If you have done all the above and your file still seems to be too big, you can always compress it on smallpdf.com (it won't flatten your layers, however, so you still need to do that before).
