Welcome to our first ever Maker Day! We are very excited to welcome prospective students and their families to the Lab for a fun day of making.
The theme this year will be “REIMAGINE THE CITIES OF THE FUTURE!”. The theme is based on Cedric Price’s Fun Palace, a visionary project designed in the 1960s that was sadly never built. A flexible framework, the structure was designed so that could be very adaptable and different spaces could be plugged into it.
We have built a framework based on Price’s design which all the participants will inhabit by adding their own 1:20 design. The size is up to you! You can make a small room or a big gallery.
One of the activities we will be running and that is perfect for all ages will be making 1:20 models of some of the most famous chairs in the design world! Using a laser cut template you will be able to make your own miniature and add it to our Fun Palace!
