In a joint venture proposal with Target 3D, industry experts in motion capture and VR, the Fab Lab planned a new teaching and research space for motion capture and XR. Using a disused basement room that was previously a reprographics shop, a refurbishment plan was sketched to include a three-sided chroma-key studio with a grid of ceiling mounted motion capture sensors. The rig was proposed to include cutting-edge capture technology that would enable XR student projects with mo-cap and professional collaborations with film industry clients.
