Teaching laser cutting and model-making using the open source WikiHouse designs, this workshop sought to promote the advantages of digital fabrication for architecture and the built environment. This programme hoped to disseminate the WikiHouse philosophy of a digitally-manufactured building system that aims to make it simple for anyone to design, manufacture and assemble beautiful, high-performance homes that are customised to their user’s needs, compressing the gap between user, designer and manufacturer. In this workshop students cut and assembled a scale model of a WikiHouse system under the supervision of Francois Girardin and the Fab Lab team.
