100 METERS PAR SOFTWOOD
Welcome to the 100 Metres Challenge Workshop! The workshop is a design and fabrication project exploring digital manufacturing and sustainable timber construction. It explores new possibilities for working with standard CNC routers to create innovative architectural propositions, which we will realise and install in a key site in Marylebone. We are opening the workshop to five teams, and each will be provided with the CNC machines in the Lab, and a set amount of timber - 100 Metres of 100x50mm PAR softwood. The challenge will be to create the most interesting architecture you can within the 7 days of the workshop, and build the project for the public to enjoy. The workshop is currently under development, and will be launched at the end of the Summer. If you think you might be interested in joining, please complete the short form below and we'll keep you informed.

We have five Trotec laser cutters, they are named Mies, Jorn, Alvar, Zaha and Liz. They have important differences:
Zaha and Liz are 100w and they are also bigger than the other three, their bed size is 1000mm x 610mm. Their only limitation is that they do not cut MDF.
