The XR lab operates across two sites, Marylebone and Cavendish, in order to help students integrate emergent technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality into their work.
We are able to offer advice and access to equipment that can help those with even a limited understanding of development to create impressive results.
USING THE LAB
The key tools in the lab are head mounted displays like the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive and game engines Unity and Unreal that are used to create the experiences.
We continually produce new workflows that will walk you through methods for creating different kinds of XR experiences.
We are also happy to offer suggestions if you want to build something not currently covered in our supported workflows.
A completed Essentials course is required before you can book time in the lab, this ensures you are aware of the lab rooms and you have the minimum skills to begin working by yourself.
