Wood Essentials will teach you the fundamentals of using the Woodshop. It is divided into two parts, an online part and a practical.
The course starts below by taking you through some basic steps you need to learn to start using the lab. It will also introduce you to wood, its properties, and its Hazards and Controls, and how to use them. Once you have read and watched all the information you will need to complete a short quiz then you will be ready to book your practical.

Clear the space, set up the machine, think through what you're going to do.
3. SWITCH ON ONLY FOR YOUR OPERATION
Switch on immediately before you start, complete the operation, stand on both feet, and switch off the machine as soon as you're done.
4. FOCUS ON WHAT YOU'RE DOING
Don't look at your phone, don't chat with friends.
5. CLEAN UP AFTERWARDS
Hoover the dust, put reusable pieces of stock in scraps and throw in the correct bin the smaller pieces.
