Welcome to the Master's Banquet! The workshop runs for a week before the year starts and it ends with a Black Tie event where the winners of the competition are announced. On this page you can find more about the work done behind the scenes, including the brief, the process and some of the student's work in progress.

BRIEF:

The Workshop will involve a short series of lectures, tutorials, clinics and crits, as well as practical demonstrations and fabrication projects.
We will introduce you to principles of prototyping and design through making, as well as developing your knowledge and skills in both traditional and digital manufacturing processes.
You will learn how to work productively and creatively with a range of materials and have the opportunity to generate, test and realise your designs.
You will be guided along the way by the whole team of architecture lecturers, technicians and research staff that comprise the Fabrication Lab, and will have exclusive use for a week of all the resources it has to offer.
The brief for the Workshop is simple but challenging. You will have the week to use what you learn to design, test and fabricate a collection of spatial installations, physical artefacts and sensory devices to transform the Project Space in the Lab into a unique Banqueting Hall. We will then use what you create to host a Banquet for us all to enjoy the space and celebrate your work, to which we will invite our key partners from architectural practice as well as senior members of the School of Architecture and the University.
Please come prepared for an energetic start to your programme!
